SITE DESCRIPTION

The Pierce Elevated is a 1 1/2 mile long, 4 to 6 lane inner-city over pass that bisects Midtown and Downtown Houston.  Perpendicular to such major area improvements as the new Metro Light Rail, the area beneath the Pierce Elevated suffers from insufficient lighting, dirt and grime.  This inhospitable environment repels rather than attracts pedestrians into this space.
