PURPOSE

The purpose of this project is to create an atmosphere where pedestrians enjoy traversing under the Pierce Elevated (I45 at Pierce) and to delineate, in an interesting way, the boundary between the Midtown and Downtown Districts. Ultimately the design should reflect the history of the place, the close integration of the urban fabric of Houston, the vibrancy of the people who live and work in the area and identify elements for Midtown, Downtown and the entire City.
