Selection Process:

This is a two phase selection process.

1. Qualifications: Interested artists are required to submit qualifications. Criteria for artist selection includes: excellence of artwork submitted, ability of artist to integrate community and project priorities into artwork, sensitivity to site issues and ability of artist to work both independently and with city employees and officials.

2. Proposals: 2 - 3 artist-finalists will be selected to submit proposals for the Bellaire Gateways project. Prior to presenting their proposals the artist-finalists will attend an orientation to learn about site, community and program ideas.

These artist-finalists will receive a $1,500 honorarium for their proposals. Community input will be garnered for each of the proposals, and each proposal will be presented with recommendations to Bellaire City Council for final selection.
