Purpose:

The purpose of all Civic Art Projects commissioned by the City of Houston C+E Department is it to create major impact in prominent tourist locations. C+E is responsible for projecting the best image of Houston to both visitors and locals. C+E wants to create projects with a high "WOW" factor. The Downtown Civic Art Framework must address these goals for the program in general as well as addressing the specific goals of creating a plan for other artists to follow which will celebrate and commemorate the leaders, locations and leading events of Houston' s downtown.
