Purpose

The purpose of this program is to add significant numbers of new benches into the park system, upgrade the benches currently installed in parks throughout the system, and celebrate unique and artfully designed park furnishings. Working closely with the City’s Parks & Recreation Department, the Houston Parks Board will lead and fund this program to design, build, install, and offer for commemorative opportunities the Houston Park Bench 2005.
