Houston’s
reputation as a center for creativity and artistic excellence can only
be sustained by the continued growth of the nonprofit sector. Success
is achieved when established arts organizations grow and mature, expanding
their organizational capacity and artistic programming. New organizations
achieve success by exploring new art-forms reflecting the cultures of
our expanding population and by responding to the growing demand for
arts programs.
Seeking to develop this “next generation” of arts organizations
in Houston, Houston Arts Alliance established its Arts Incubator
Program in 1995. Participation in the program continues to provide promising
arts organizations with office space, access to shared meeting space
and office equipment, administrative assistance, workshops, consulting
and mentoring for up to three years. Among the graduates of the program
are Infernal Bridegroom Productions and Buffalo Bayou ArtPark.
